This is what I'm considering using for my next (2nd) guitar. ![]() ![]() ![]() I finally figured out how to downsize the image. The piece is .95 inches thick measured with my cheapo micrometer. I think if I'm lucky I'll be able to end up with 4 pieces thick enough for back and side. Any opinions on that? Thanks Dave |

Hey Dave, Looks a lot like walnut to me. BTW, you might want to scale your photos down a touch. They're scrolling halfway off my 1280-pixel-wide screen. ![]() Best, Michael |

I'll probably try that too, sometime. I'll have to find smaller pieces though. ![]() |
Mesquite!
/whap/...(sound of hand against head) That yellow sap wood sure looks more like mesquite than butternut. |

Yes. It's mesquite. I figured my alias would be a dead giveaway. The piece is wide and long enough for a back and side set I'm just not sure about the thickness. I'll measure it to see what you guys think. Does anyone have a suggestion on sizing the pictures? |

I use an old version of Paint Shop Pro to resize the ones I post here. It's pretty easy to use. You can find older versions of PSP on eBay for pretty cheap. Best, Michael |
